Philippe Le Prestre

A dual American and French national, Philippe Le Prestre is Full Professor of Political Science at Laval University (Quebec). In 2015-2016, he held the "International Francqui Professor" Chair of the Francqui Foundation (Belgium). Philippe Le Prestre holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University (Bloomington) as well as graduate degrees in Ecology from the University of Paris-Diderot. Past chair of the Environmental Studies Section of the International Studies Association, he was the founding director of Laval University's Hydro-Quebec Institute on Environment, Development, and Society, and has been a member of numerous national and international scientific committees. Out of a dozen books on international environmental politics, Philippe Le Prestre is the author of The World Bank and the Environmental Challenge (Associated University Presses, 1989), Protection de l’environnement et relations internationales (Armand-Colin, 2005) and Global Ecopolitics Revisited (Routledge, 2017).
