Researcher at IDDRI since 2011, within the New Prosperity programme, Lucas Chancel works on the social dimension of sustainable development. He is also coordinator of the World Inequality Report at the Paris School of Economics since October 2015 and lecturer at Sciences Po. Prior to joining IDDRI, Lucas worked as a consultant for The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI, New Delhi, India) and for the European Institute for Energy Research (EIFER, Karlsruhe, Germany). He was also a visiting researcher at the United Nations Habitat Program. At IDDRI, his current work focuses on interactions between social, economic and environmental inequalities. He has also worked on new indicators of progress, drivers of household energy consumption, as well as on the linkages between prosperity, growth and environmental policies. Lucas Chancel holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy from Imperial College London, a BSc in Physics from Paris VI University and an MSc in Economics and Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris and Ecole Polytechnique.
